Feigenholtz Calls on Community to Donate Blood During National Blood Donor Month
CHICAGO, Ill. – In recognition of the American Red Cross’ National Blood Donor Month, State Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, D-Chicago, is encouraging local residents to donate blood at clinics and blood banks in the Lakeview area.
“Many of us know a family member or friend who has needed blood in the past, or may need it in the future,” Feigenholtz said. “Simple acts like giving blood can help our community be better prepared to keep people healthy and save lives.”
Residents can donate blood at a number of area clinics throughout the community, including Lifesource, located at 1543 W. Fullerton. The process takes very little time and includes four, easy steps: registration, a free physical, blood collection, and light refreshments afterward. Interested donors or people seeking additional information about where and how to donate blood are encouraged to call the America Red Cross at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or visit their website at www.redcrossblood.org.
“Donating blood is an easy process, and it’s always a rewarding experience,” Feigenholtz said. “Come out and help ensure a healthy start to the New Year for those in need.”
