Rep. Feigenholtz to Host Internet Safety Discussion with Chicago Police Department
CHICAGO, Ill. – In an effort to protect children from online predators and cyberbullying, state Rep. Sara Feigenholtz, D-Chicago, will host an Internet Safety Discussion with the Chicago Police Department (CPD) on Thursday, March 13 from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Nettelhorst School, located at 3252 N. Broadway in Lakeview.
“Advances in technology are constantly changing the way our children learn and helping us manage our day-to-day lives,” said Feigenholtz. “We need to ensure that we provide a safe and comfortable online environment for our kids.”
Attendees with be joined by Detective Charles Hollendoner of the CPD’s Special Investigations Unit. Topics of discussion will include online exploitation, piracy, cyberbullying, password protection, parental locks, and using social media responsibly.
“Informing parents of the many dangers presented to their children online helps them protect their children from inappropriate and unwanted comments or material,” Feigenholtz said. “Keeping kids safe online is essential to their success in school and at home.”
